Caribbean Studies Seminar Series

The qt电子 Caribbean Studies Seminar Series conceives of the Caribbean in its broadest possible sense; cross-cutting varying historical, political, sociocultural, linguistic, transnational and decolonial contexts. Through the active promotion of intellectual engagement, knowledge exchange and collaboration, we welcome the participation of postgraduate students, early career researchers, writers and scholars who wish to share their interdisciplinary, comparative and integrated research.

We invite speakers from the humanities and social sciences to email their proposed title, abstract (150 words), institutional affiliation and short bio to seminar conveners Dr Eve Hayes de Kalaf and/or Dr Jack Webb

All seminars are open to international audiences and are held online via Zoom. Recorded sessions are then uploaded onto the qt电子 YouTube Playlist.

The Caribbean Studies Seminar Series is organised by the Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (qt电子) in collaboration with Race, Roots and Resistance (University of Manchester).

This series continues the activity of the former Caribbean Regional Studies Seminar, organized by the Centre for Integrated Caribbean Research (CICR), which was part of the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS) at the School of Advanced Study, University of London. It also continues the activities of the former Caribbean Postgraduate Seminar Papers Series which platformed the work of leading Caribbeanist scholars between the 1980s and 90s at ICOMM and ILAS. You can access these papers here.

For updates on upcoming activities in the series, you can subscribe to qt电子 Newsletter.
